My motorcycle has been lovingly cared for and has all its dealer.
Yamaha sells this bike new is 280,+++ . The white color is coveted and has a waiting list selling for a bit more. My price reduction, at 75,000 THB ($2,000) off takes the sting out of spending this much. (still almost new but broken in). I would bet it could still be sold for 200kTHB with up to 25,000 km on the dial. I know a Honda 300F would have been much less but it wouldn't be this bike.
I added a Supertrapp slide on muffler so others know I am there, its not to loud but loud enough to be safe. This muffler allows one to add or subtract discs to control the back pressure on the engine therefore allowing you to opt for power at the low or top end. I played with them until I found the sweet spot for me but have extra discs should you want to play yourself.
I have the original exhaust that can be put back on in 15 minutes if you like. The old exhaust shines like new same as the rest of the bike, This motorcycle was one of the first brought from Japan when it debuted in Thailand so was assembled in Japan, which to me is a comfort, it also has the true Yamaha emblem rather than the Yamaha sticker they are offering now. At this price I think they should really still be going all the way as the emblem is much grander.
I would never sell this bike if I were staying here. It's the perfect mix of a light motorcycle that can carve around traffic, but has the power to lead the pack from a dead stop. It's a joy to ride. I rented and borrowed 8 other motorcycles and found myself using my scooter for short trips rather than fire up a cruiser or other. This bike is multi purpose and a joy to ride. I never use my scooter anymore.
The design (exterior) hasn't been changed since 1978 so many is the time that I return to my bike to find people just standing there looking at it. Inside it now has fuel injection which makes operating cheaper, and also always starts with ease. I want to be clear that this bike only has a kickstart. They have made it so soft that they say it can be done by hand. Check YouTube to see people doing just that.
Read Yamaha's info at:
Or browse through all the chat sites, they have been up for decades. Since it has remained in production since '78 in Japan there are a huge amount of possible add-ons. I like it as is but simply changing the handlebars make it a café racer.
