This is an win-win opportunity for all involved.

My friend's Tsunami school owns a small diving speed boat & they teach thais diving, english and interacting with tourists. They take a limited number of people with them on 2 full days of diving with about 2 dives/day + maybe a night dive at the Similans for the deep discount donation of 5,000 Baht +500 if you need equipment.

The National Park has tents on the island (I've slept in them before) that cost about 600 baht last time I checked & even cheaper if you share with a friend. We could also ride pool up there which saves the environment & costs.

This is not a commercial dive company so it's informal & flexible & you might even help decide what kind of dives we do etc. This kind of flexibility is impossible on the more expensive 2 day liveaboards so It's very different from being just a passenger on some rental tour because the students are eager to interact & practice their new skills.

There's an additional charge by Thailand's Park to get into the underwater preserve but that is an extra charge even with the standard high priced scuba outfits (I'm told it's 600 baht)
